The Greek Students’ Association at the University of Toronto is pleased to announce that it has launched a scholarship fund to support its two annual scholarships: The Andrea Christidis Memorial Scholarship and The Maria Vernezos Memorial Scholarship, previously known as The GSA Scholarship of Excellence. Our goal is to reward students of Hellenic descent for their dedication to their communities and support them with the costs associated with post-secondary education. We hope that you can support us in funding these scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year and to create a foundation for years to come.

The Andrea Christidis Memorial Scholarship
The Andrea Christidis Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a first-year University of Toronto student of Hellenic descent who has demonstrated dedication to community initiatives and has been actively involved in leadership roles. Priority will be given to students with financial need.
Additional Details:
- The amount of this scholarship is $1000
- Applicants must be enrolled in their first year of an undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto (UTSG or UTM)
- All applicants will be required to complete an online application outlining the following: Personal Information, Description of Community Involvement, Explanation of Financial Need and Academic History.

The Maria Vernezos Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship, formerly known as The GSA Scholarship of Excellence, was renamed in Maria’s memory to honour her dedication to academics and the mark she has left on her community. It will be award to a non-first-year University of Toronto undergraduate student of Hellenic descent who embodies the excellence that Maria did. Priority will be given to students with financial need.

To Ensure Fair Selection…
A special committee is formed of past GSA Presidents who review all applications and determine the winners. All applications are blinded before being sent to the committee.
In our efforts to maintain a fair and impartial selection process, no members of the current GSA executive staff or board of directors are involved in the selection process.
