Summer Opportunities: UofT Summer Abroad in Athens

Looking for a summer experience that combines academics, travel, and unforgettable memories? The UofT Summer Abroad – Athens program offers students the chance to study contemporary Greece while exploring some of the most iconic sites in the country.


Program Overview

Course: POL300Y1 – with Prof. Themis
Location: Athens, Greece

Program Dates (4 weeks each)

  • Session 1: Monday, May 18 – Friday, June 12, 2026
  • Session 2: Monday, June 15 – Friday, July 10, 2026

Academic Focus

The program aims to provide a deep understanding of contemporary Greece, combining classroom learning with hands-on experiences.

  • 4 weeks of engaging classes
  • Guided field trips and cultural excursions
  • Built-in free time to explore independently
  • Earn 1.0 academic credit toward program requirements or electives

Travel & Experiences

Students will have the opportunity to explore:

  • Athens – history, politics, and modern life
  • Delphi & Sounio – iconic archaeological and cultural sites
  • Island of Symi – experience island life and coastal beauty
