Skate For Toys

Our annual Skate for Toys event is back!

The Greek Students’ Associations from UofT, UTSC, Ryerson and York with the help of St. George Greek Orthodox Church are hosting their Skate for Toys event.

Come to the Ryerson skate rink right in the heart of downtown with your friends and loved ones to enjoy some hot chocolate, cupcakes and ice skating. At the same time you will be embracing the meaning of the holidays by helping make this time of the year more joyful for those that will appreciate it the most.

Please bring a new toy to donate. Also don’t forget to bring your most festive mood and let us start the holiday season in a way we can be proud of!

A Night to Unite

The GSA and Consulate General of Greece in Toronto presents A Night to Unite. We invite you to an evening of social gathering with an alarming ethinc importance. We need all of YOU, the students of all the Universities in the GTA to come out and and support our initiatives: Bringing a Modern Greek Course to U of T and to bring the NHSA convention to Toronto in the Spring.

This event is only 2 hours. There is NO admission and everyone will be enjoying ONE FREE DRINK as well as many appetizers that will be served. There will be a Greek DJ spinning modern Greek.

All we ask is for you to come out and bring as many as your friends to Libra Lounge Wednesday Night for a couple of hours, enjoy some drinks, some food, Greek Music, and sign our Modern Greek Language at U of T petition.

This event is for anyone that is a student. Take a quick break from studying and come support us

UTSC Movie Night

The GSA @ UTSC is having our annual Greek movie night. The movie we will be presenting is Πολίτικη Κουζίνα, known in English as “A Touch of Spice”.

“A Touch of Spice” is a story about a young Greek boy (Fanis) growing up in Istanbul, whose grandfather, a culinary philosopher and mentor,teaches him that both food and life require a little salt to give them flavor; they both require… A Touch of Spice. Fanis grows up to become an excellent cook and uses his cooking skills to spice up the lives of those around him. 35 years later he leaves Athens and travels back to his birthplace of Istanbul to reunite with his grandfather and his first love; he travels back only to realize that he forgot to put a little bit of spice in his own life.

Conversation Club

Greek Film Night II

Greek Day @ UTSC

On Thursday November 24th come and join us for some delicious Greek food, music, and dancing from 11:30am – 4pm in the UTSC Student Centre!

Full meat or veggie meal for only $5.00 (Drink included).

Greek sweets like loukoumades, galaktompouriko, and of course BAKLAVA will be served.  Also, what’s a Greek event without our famous FRAPPE?  You don’t want to miss out on all this AMAZING food from your favourite Greek restaurants on the Danforth!

Greek Film Night I Recap

On Monday October 24th the GSA held their first Greek Movie Night of the year! We screened the Greek favourite ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ directed by Joel Zwick. My Big Fat Greek Wedding was nominated for an Academy Award of Best Original Screenplay although it did not win it was a sleeper hit that year. We had a good turnout of 20+ people attending and it was a great night. Free pizza, popcorn and drinks were provided for everyone who came out. Keep your eyes open for upcoming movie nights!

Greek Day @ Sid Smith!

Cost: FREE for members

Join the GSA for GREEK DAY at Sid Smith! We will be serving lamb on a spit, fresh like your papou makes it along with greek coffee and desserts. FREE for all members! There will be music, food, drinks and fun, don’t miss out!

For non-members it’s $5 for lamb, pita, and a drink.

OXI Day Parade

Join the GSA as we parade along the Danforth to celebrate OXI Day! As is tradition, we will be wearing our GSA sweaters/ shirts. Sweaters will be available the day of for $40.00. Afterwards we will be going to a restaurant on the Danforth as a group!
