Nominations Now Open
The Greek Students’ Association at the University of Toronto is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026–2027 Executive Council Elections.
As the current Executive Council approaches the conclusion of its term, members are invited to participate in the upcoming election process by submitting nominations and contributing to the continued leadership and direction of the organization.
Nomination Details
- Nomination Period: Now open until March 23 at 11:59 PM
- Late submissions will not be accepted
To submit a nomination, candidates must DM or email the GSA Executive Team with the following:
- Full name
- Desired position
- A brief statement of interest
Election Timeline
- Nomination Period: Open until March 23
- Campaign Period: One (1) week following the close of nominations
- Voting Period: Three (3) to five (5) days following the campaign period
- Results Announcement: Following verification of ballots
Campaigning Guidelines
- Campaigning must be conducted through personal platforms only
- Use of official GSA platforms for campaigning is prohibited
- All candidates are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner
Eligibility Requirements
- Candidates must be registered members of the Greek Students’ Association
- Members must have completed a minimum of thirty (30) days in good standing to be eligible to vote or run
- Members who joined after February 10 are not eligible to participate in this election cycle
- All Executive Council members must be currently registered students at the University of Toronto
Executive Council Overview
The Executive Council is composed of seven (7) elected members, each serving a term from May 1 to April 30 of the following academic year.
The Council is collectively responsible for:
- Organizational leadership and governance
- Financial oversight and accountability
- Planning and execution of events and initiatives
- Advocacy on behalf of members
Executive Positions
President
The President serves as the official spokesperson and provides overall leadership to the organization in accordance with its constitution and policies.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic direction and oversight
- Representing the organization in official capacities
- Holding signing and financial authority jointly with the Treasurer
Additional Requirements:
- Must not hold signing authority for another recognized student organization
- Prior executive experience is strongly recommended
Vice President External
The Vice President External is responsible for external relations and advocacy.
Responsibilities include:
- Acting as a liaison between the organization and external groups
- Representing the organization in collaborative initiatives
- Supporting academic advocacy for members
Vice President Internal
The Vice President Internal oversees internal operations and coordination.
Responsibilities include:
- Liaising with on-campus organizations and university bodies
- Supporting internal communications and organizational structure
Vice President Student Life
The Vice President Student Life is responsible for programming and member engagement.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing events and services
- Overseeing initiatives that enhance student experience
- Supporting new and incoming members
Vice President Public Relations
The Vice President Public Relations manages communications and outreach.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the organization’s social media platforms and website
- Overseeing marketing and promotional initiatives
Secretary General
The Secretary General is responsible for administrative coordination and record-keeping.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining official documentation and meeting minutes
- Supporting the President in organizational operations
Treasurer
The Treasurer oversees all financial matters of the organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing budgets and financial planning
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Holding signing authority jointly with the President
Additional Requirements:
- Must not hold financial authority for another recognized student organization
Next Steps
Following the close of nominations, eligible candidates will participate in a one-week campaign period. This will be followed by the voting period, after which the results will be formally announced.
