Greek Movie Night I

Date: Wednesday, November 3rd
Location: South Dining Hall at Hart House
Time: 7:30-9:30pm
Cost: Free for GSA members ($5 for non-members which includes membership and t-shirt)

On November 3th the GSA will be showing the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”: a hilarious comedy we all love and can relate to. There will be fun, laughter… and FREE popcorn!! There will also be a surprise creation by our secretary Christos.

Synopsis: A young Greek woman falls in love with a non-Greek and struggles to get her family to accept him while she comes to terms with her heritage and cultural identity.

OXI Day Parade


Date: Sunday October 31st
Time: 12:30pm- 3:00pm
Location: Please meet us at 7/11 (Located at Donlands & Danforth) at 12:00pm

Join the GSA as we parade along the Danforth to celebrate Greek OXI Day. This year we will have a float! Yes a float that we will celebrate on. As is tradition, wear your GSA sweaters to the parade, and if you don’t have one, look below to buy one!

GSA Sweaters:

You must pre-order them by this Friday October 22!
We have extended our office hours and you can come in and order from Tues-Thurs 1-3PM and Fri 12-2PM.
They will be $40 and you must pay a $20 deposit when you order.
You will be able to pick up your sweaters at the parade, or the office if you can’t attend.

GSA @ VIC International Week

Join the GSA at VIC International Week! Vic will be holding an International Dance and Flag Making Workshop. The GSA will have a dance group there where you can participate.

Raketes Tournament 2010

This Sunday September 19th, the GSAs from UTM, UTSC and St. George campus will be hosting a RAKETES TOURNAMENT (Greek racket ball on the beach)!

This event is FREE for members and we will be providing food and drinks the day of. If you are not a member yet, do not worry! We will be registering members before the date and during the event at the beach.  The meeting spot will be outside the Boardwalk Cafe at 12 pm.  It is easily accessible by car (the location is right beside the beaches parking lot) or by bus.  We will wait there until about 12:13 and then head to Ashbridge’s Bay where we will put our game faces on!!

This event will be really fun for those who have played raketes in Greece and for anyone that has never played before..it’s easy to learn. It will also be a great event to meet other old and new members from the GSA. Come show off your Raketes skills!!
