The Ongoing Refugee Crisis: A Round Table Discussion

The Greek Students’ Association at U of T hosted their annual Academic Night on the evening of March 3, 2016, in the Munk School of Global Affairs. The topic for the night was the ongoing refugee crisis. As many know, Greece is extremely affected by the events that have taken place, and Academic Night provided university students with an opportunity to join the discussion. Students who attended the night were able to learn more from two amazing guest speakers, Gloria Nafziger of Amnesty International, and Phil Triadafilopoulos, a Professor at U of T. After their presentations, the floor was open to any questions for any of the speakers, and a discussion began amongst the students and the speakers. All in all, the night was an enjoyable night, filled with refreshments, food, great teachings, and great discussion.

MTL After Party/Tsiknopempti 2016

On Thursday, February 18th in Greek Town, the GSA met with the Hellenic Students Associations from York,
Ryerson and UOIT to celebrate the successful SEF 2016 Montreal trip and Tsiknopempti . The atmosphere was electric and the air was thick with love- love for Greek music and a good time! What better way to forget about those post-Montreal blues than by sipping on a few drinks and shaking it on the dance floor? Everyone had an absolute blast celebrating this special ancient tradition. Thank you to everyone who attended and to Logo Bar for hosting the party and providing the perfect fun-filled atmosphere.

SEF Toronto Invades MTL 2016

Over the course of Family day weekend (Friday, February 12 to Monday, February 15) SEF Toronto, including the Greek Students’ Association of U of T and the Hellenic Students’ Associations of Ryerson, York & UOIT took over Montreal once again! We started the weekend with an eventful road trip to the Quality Inn & Suites located in Downtown Montreal. Over the three nights, we attended three separate clubs: Le Rouge, La Boom, and Muzique – SEF Toronto’s favourite spot for Sunday night! During our stay, we additionally visited the casino on Saturday and Old Montreal on Sunday for our day excursions. It was an amazing and memorable trip to kick off Reading Week! We look forward for SEF Montreal Invasion 2017!
